Update 09/12/25 - If you're attending the talk by Flt Lt (Ret'd) Colin Bell at Blackbushe on Thursday evening, please note that it starts at 6pm in the Aerobility hangar. We ask that you plan to arrive around 5.30-5.45. Volunteers will be on hand to direct you if you're not familiar with the location. Please park (unless you are walking mobility impaired) towards the eastern (Control Tower) end of the Car Park. We look forward to seeing you!
=============================
We hope you can join us for what should be a very special event! We are delighted to announce a talk with one of a now very small number of surviving World War 2 pilots…..
Colin not only flew the Mosquito on operations in WW2, with 608 (Pathfinder) Sqn, based at Downham Market (carrying out 50 raids over Germany), he ended his full-time RAF service in 1946 flying diplomatic mail around Europe and Africa from Blackbushe! This included landings using the airfield’s well-known “FIDO” (fog dispersal) system on 3 occasions.
We expect this event to be popular, and will have the use of Aerobility’s hangar to accommodate a larger gathering. You can reserve your tickets, at £10pp here and hope you’ll be able to join us!
